Brock Lesnar: UFC heavyweight champion

Brock Lesnar knows how to make the most of an opportunity. Who would have thought 3 fights into his UFC career and just 9 months into his employment with the organization he'd be champion?

His victory over Randy Couture over the weekend is extremely impressive. Styles make fights and any time you have freakazoid of a human like Lesnar in terms of size and strength, coupled with amazing wrestling skill and athleticism, that is a style that is very hard to contend with. Even with his gross inexperience, he was able to knock out a legend in Randy Couture.

Kudos to Lesnar and Couture for putting on a great show. Lesnar must be praised for seizing the moment and taking full advantage of a great opportunity. He didn't technically deserve this title shot based on just one win in the league, but he definitely deserves to be champion and showed how good he is and can become.

Couture also did a great job in the fight and aside from that one strike of Lesnar which toppled the former champ. Couture may well be back in action soon enough, after all he's only 45.
