Joe Stevenson versus Spencer Fisher prediction for UFC 104

A veteran of 45 fights and a Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt under the Robert Drysdale, Joe "Daddy" Stevenson is coming off a big win over Nate Diaz and takes on the very entertaining and dangerous Spencer Fisher. "The King" Fisher is coming off three straight wins, and looks to use Stevenson as a springboard up the ladder at 155.

I have a lot of respect and admiration for Fisher's striking game, heart he shows in fight, and just sheer entertainment value he brings to the table. His flying knee knockout over Matt Wiman still is one of the best leaping strikes I've seen and was masterfully executed. He is always ready to throw down and light up his opponents and the crowd as well.

But the biggest hindrance I feel for Fisher in his career has been his takedown defense. If he could get it to a super-high level, his success rate in the sport would drastically improve. He is a very dangerous striker and has been able to disarm and outstrike tough kickboxers including Sam Stout, who is a champion kickboxer and a good striker.

Unfortunately for Fisher, in this bout, Joe "Daddy" will likely be able to use his strong wrestling, quick shots, and control on the ground, in addition to some strikes from top position to outpoint the North Carolina native on route to a decision win. I think this fight is either a KO for Fisher or decision for Stevenson.
