Randy Couture belongs in the UFC

The UFC announced this week the return of Randy Couture to their organization, and it's great to hear. Couture's legacy in MMA has been firmly cemented with the Ultimate Fighting Championship. From him entering the sport, defeating Vitor Belfot, winning the world title from Kevin Randleman, picking up an interim and official lightheavyweight belt from Chuck Liddell and Tito Ortiz, to emerging out of retirement to win back the heavyweight strap and defending it at age 44; Randy Couture has been a rich and inspirational part of the UFC's history. Beloved by fans worldwide, it was a sad day for many when he departed from the organization about 9 months ago.

Aside from the heavyweight division needing an injection of some more top level talent, the respect Dana White has for Couture both as a person and fighter could not allow him to keep the UFC hall of famer out of his organization. It's real nice to see the two come to terms and put aside any problems that may have arose in their personal relationship throughout the 9 months Couture sat on the sidelines and was involved in legal battles with Zuffa.

Now Couture's main focus is to get back full time into the gym. He takes on Brock Lesnar at UFC 91 in November in Las Vegas.
