The "Axe Murderer" is back

Last night Wanderlei Silva was once again summoned up the spirit of his nickname, "The Axe Murderer", and dispatched of Keith Jardine in 36 seconds via KO. Coming out swinging, Silva tagged Jardine with a nice right, which dropped Jardine to the mat. While other fighters might not be able to seal the deal, Silva's killer instinct is amongst the top in MMA and he instantly swarmed the wounded Jardine. A barrage of strikes on the ground eventually laid out Jardine cold and the bout was over.

You could tell by the way Silva reacted and hopped onto the top of the cage that this fight meant a great deal to him. With 3 losses in a row his career was in risk of being over if he dropped this fight against Jardine. But his impressive KO win over a top notch competitor like Jardine promises great things still for Silva at light heavyweight.

Jardine is a solid competitor and definitely will be back. On an given night he has the ability to defeat top level fighters such as Forrest Griffin and Chuck Liddell. We can look forward to big things from Jardine in the future too.
