The Case for Penn

Those arguing BJ Penn will come out on top at UFC 84 this Saturday are banking on the fact that he is an absolute killer in the first couple rounds of a fight--particularly the first. He comes at you full speed and you're always going to be in harms way of a KO or submission. The aggressive striking, very healthy fighting spirit and unpredictable patterns of attack make him every so dangerous in the first 5-10 minutes of battle. Many argue he is pound for pound the best fighter in the world, which is why he comes into the bout as the favorite. Sherk himself notes he is the underdog for the fight and feels no pressure as a result.

The case for BJ Penn faithful is simply that he's too skilled and dangerous in the beginning stages of the fight and thus it will be a done deal early--submission or KO in rounds 1 or 2.
