UFC 100 prediction: GSP vs Alves

Thiago Alves is a very dangerous striker with a superb takedown defense. His ability to stop world class wrestler Josh Koscheck from taking him down in their bout speaks volumes of how good he is at stuffing takedown attempts. His Muay Thai is killer and guys like Karo Parisyan, Matt Hughes and company have found out how dangerous his striking attack really is. Georges St. Pierre is the best of the best of 170 and always comes in with a great gameplan. He will be able to impose his will on Alves and likely win this bout, but every single minute of this 25 minute fight that the fight takes place on the feet, GSP will be in danger of being taken out--Alves is that dangerous. He is a very big welterweight and brings an incredible amount of power to his Muay Thai technique. That being said you have to go with the champ--GSP takes this very tough battle agains Alves, and should consider moving to 185 if in fact he does get through the Brazilian.
